Klaus (Jürgen Schmidt) navigates fashion, design & contemporary art as an undivided cultural world. Reckoning a future as mined from the past, his work collects as an orphic realm. Offering various outcomes in his multidisciplinary practice, his studio investigates and attempts to propose artistic alternatives to historical theories, while noteworthy textile works and wearable objects are continuously made as textiles director at neo-heritage Italian menswear brand, Magliano; whilst past textile / object collaborations have included Andre Walker, Versace, Hussein Chalayan and Martine Rose amongst others. His work has been published in Another Magazine, Vogue, Acne Paper, Dazed & Confused, Nomas, Corriere, Kappa and Purple. Recent contemporary art shows include exhibited textiles and ceramics in DANCING PLAGUE at Gamec Bergamo; VESSELS at Sized, Frieze LA; INDUSTRIALISM, Frieze New York; DIECI at OXILIA; Salone Di Mobile.
